INTRO TO HORSES / VAULTING
Vaulting is a fantastic way to learn to ride. Class meets once per week. Riders take turns riding a horse on a lungeline and play on gymnastics mats and vaulting barrels, or do ground work with another horse when it is not their turn to ride. Class is taught using a vaulting surcingle (basically a bareback pad with big handles) in order to reduce time changing stirrup length and so parents do not have to buy boots or riding pants for this class.
Most kids stay in this program about 2 months, then progress to private lessons. Kids in Europe vault for 6 months before earning a saddle and we feel it is a great foundation for confidence. Some kids love vaulting so progress to vaulting competitively.
